Tourism and Local Products

With the financial support of the Sustainable Local Development Programme which is financed by the USAID, RDA Zlatibor started the implementation of  project  IMC Territory Regional Value Chain on 1st September.
Project aims to improve and develop the supply chain of local products, that small producers can become a part of HoReCa sector supply chain (hotels, restaurants and tourists) in territory of 5 municipalities: Uzice, Cajetina, Nova Varos, Priboj and Prijepolje, area of Zlatibor, Zlatar and Tara mountains.

Total project`s costs $57.000. This Project will contribute to creating positive effect of tourism on the local economy and stimulating regional supply chain by identifying barriers to entry into tourism market for local products. Therefore, analysis of tourism demands (hotel, restaurants and tourists) will be conducted in territory of tourist destinations of Zlatibor, Zlatar and Tara in order to obtain qualitative and quantitative data on the actual local products requirements in tourist industry.
On the other hand, local products offer will be analyzed through the surveys of companies and farmers and thus identified the capacities of producers to meet the requirements of tourism market demands.
The results of the supply and demand analysis will be the bases for cooperation with representatives of private and civil sector in defining recommendations for the establishment of supply chain that will meet the needs of tourism sector and help small producers to sell their products. Creation of Action plan for implementation of 3 key recommendation is going to be provided within this Project and supported by local authorities.
