Public advocacy campaigns of civil society organization for sustainable using of natural recourses in Southwest Serbia

The aim of the project:
The overall objective is to contribute to the promotion of civil society in the Western Balkans and Turkey to implement public advocacy campaigns with focus in the natural resources and energy.
Specific objective is improved capacities of CSOs of Southwest Serbia in advocacy and planning, decision making, implementation and control of activities that have an impact on the environment of rivers Great Rzav and Lim and other potentially affected areas.

Project location
: Southwest Serbia (Zlatibor Region)

Project results:
R1: Improved capacity of 35 CSOs in Southwest Serbia for active participation in environmental protection in accordance with the Aarhus Convention, based on practical experience in the application of the three basic principles of the Aarhus Convention.
R2: Improved channels of institutional cooperation between the public and civil society in the Zlatibor District regarding environment and supported two initiatives of CSOs in the implementation of legal procedures in the use of natural resources in Southwest Serbia.
R3: Developed a database “White Book of the environment of Southwest Serbia” as a precondition for the quality action of civil society regarding environmental protection
